A Santa Rosa native, Dr. Jacqui Payne has lived in this community her whole life, except while away at school. Growing up around oral healthcare, with a general dentist mother and a father and grandfather who were both orthodontists, she saw firsthand how much joy comes from helping people find smiles they love.
She attended Georgetown University, completing a Bachelor of Science in human science, then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, graduating as a member of the Tau Kappa Omega honors society. Continuing at UOP, she completed her orthodontic residency and received her orthodontic certificate and Master of Science.
Board certification and continuing education
Dr. Payne is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, CADABO, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Redwood Dental Society and the Spear Study Group.
Her current continuing-education focus: screening for sleep apnea, miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expanders (MARPE), and clear-aligner treatment, which keeps her patients at the front edge of modern orthodontics.
Beyond the practice
Dr. Payne's Bernedoodle puppy, Indie, is her constant companion and occasional office greeter. Much of her free time is spent outdoors with her boyfriend Michael, a third-generation dentist: camping, backpacking, mountain biking and skiing, with Mt. Whitney on the list.
Passionate about understanding cultures different from her own, she recently joined a dental outreach trip to the Philippines, providing dental education and treatment to elementary-aged children.
